Artist Biography: Jacque Liu is a Philadelphia-based artist, arts administrator, and educator. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, he received an M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art, a B.F.A. from Alfred University, and a Fulbright Scholarship to study at the Universität der Künste Berlin. His work is widely exhibited and he is the recipient of numerous awards and grants. His projects have been reviewed in The New York Times, Newsweek, National Public Radio, The Philadelphia Inquirer, the artblog, and elsewhere. Jacque is an arts administration professional, where his work experience ranges from City government to philanthropic grant-making. For 7 years, he served as the City of Philadelphia’s Percent for Art Program Manager facilitating the commissions of new City-owned permanent public art. He is the co-founder of Takt Kunstprojektraum in Berlin, Germany; and has been a member of the artist collectives, Vox Populi and Grizzly Grizzly. He has curated and led creative programming initiatives. He serves on various boards and panels, including the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, the Alliance for Watershed Education, and the artblog. He teaches in the Graduate Program at Moore College of Art.
