Ripley Jenkins: Aero Speedsters, Sept. 14 - Oct. 10, 1970. Size: 11'' x 29.5'' x 12'' (28 x 75 x 30 cm). PAUL RIPLEY JENKINS was born in Cody, Wyoming in 1950. A west coast artist, Jenkins was best known for his whimsical small-scale sculptures and schematic-style drawings, often depicting fantastical modes of transportation that combined machinery from airplanes and automobiles with human features. The artist's work is represented in several notable public collections, including the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, Wahsington, DC; and the Seattle Art Museum. The artist died in Seattle, Washington in 1974.
