Study Collection Of 5 Indian Miniature Paintings And Fragments, Late 19th/Early 20th C. Opaque watercolor on paper. Sizes From: 5.25'' x 3.5'', 13 x 9 cm (sheet); To: 5.5'' x 8'', 14 x 20 cm (sheet); 7'' x 11'', 18 x 28 cm (mat). Group of five Indian miniature painting folios and fragments, comprising works from Rajasthani and Pahari schools, dating approximately from the 18th to 19th century, together with later provincial material. Rendered in opaque watercolor on paper, the group includes courtly scenes, architectural terrace compositions, a battle fragment with mounted warrior, and a manuscript folio featuring a Devanagari text panel. One larger folio depicts a noble assembly beneath a pavilion with a river landscape above, while another shows an intimate terrace scene with seated figures and attendant. All examples are presented as fragments or heavily worn folios, with significant condition issues including paint loss, abrasions, losses, and prior mounting.
