Description:

Indian Astrological Manuscript Booklet, Devanagari Script, Panchang Tables/Yantra Diagrams, Late 18th/Early 19th C. Size: 8.75'' x 6'', 22 x 15 cm (sheet). Handwritten Indian astrological manuscript booklet, likely North or Western India (Rajasthan or Gujarat), dating to the late 18th-early 19th century. Ink on handmade paper with red-ruled margins and sectional rubrication, bound in original stitched format. The manuscript comprises dense numerical tables and computational grids associated with traditional Jyotisha (Hindu astrology) practices. Content includes calendrical and astronomical calculations, likely referencing tithi (lunar days), planetary positions, and auspicious timing (muhurta). The opening line features the invocation “Sri Ganesaya Namah” (“Salutations to Lord Ganesha”), a customary preface to mathematical and astrological texts. Several pages include diagrammatic forms resembling yantra or horoscope charts, reinforcing its practical use as a working reference for an astrologer or calendar compiler rather than a decorative manuscript.
