Description:

Persian Illuminated Manuscript Book, Akhlaq Ethical Text, Nasta'liq Script, Indo-Persian, 19th C. Size: 1.5'' x 6.5'' x 10'' (4 x 17 x 25 cm). A 19th-century Persian manuscript-style book featuring an illuminated opening folio and text in elegant nasta'liq script. The work represents a hybrid production typical of the Indo-Persian world, where traditional manuscript aesthetics were preserved alongside emerging lithographic techniques. The opening page is richly decorated with a gold and polychrome sarlawh (headpiece), while the text throughout is arranged within ruled borders and includes rubrication. The content is identified as ethical and didactic Persian prose (akhlaq literature), focusing on themes of wisdom, conduct, and moral refinement. The final page includes a traditional scribal completion panel (khatm shud), confirming the conclusion of the work in manuscript convention.
